Having planned a trip to Copenhagen, Denmark back in December it had slipped our mind that we were heading to this colourful Scandinavian country. Last week we packed our bags and hopped on a plane. This was a trip to relax and experience Danish culture. Our main focus was to enjoy walking around the streets of Copenhagen and enjoying tasty meals that the street market had to offer... and this is exactly what we did!
We have listed a few of our favourite things that we did while we were in Copenhagen. We can't rave enough about the Danish pastries that are available to munch on. They are so yummy! A MUST go to if you visit. As it was slightly chilly outside the Botanical Gardens soon became our favourite place to warm up. With the spiralling staircase that leads you up onto a walkway around the top of the greenhouse. It was great to see and experience the plants from a different perspective.
One of our days was spent cycling around Copenhagen. I have to say it is one of the best cities I have been to for cycling. The streets and roads have been designed specifically for cyclists in mind. It is great you feel extremely safe as there are so many other people cycling too. It's a cheap, in expensive and fast way to experience the city. However after seven hours of peddling around the city you soon get a little sore! But very worth while.
